Let's start hopping!!
This weeks blog hop question is: Do you judge a book by its cover?
Yes, I do sometimes. I read Torment, Dead Tossed Waves & Getting Revenge on Lauren Wood based solely on their covers. With mixed results I might add. I have also avoided a book because of the cover. Most recently The Ghost & the Goth. A friend sent it to me and it was fantastic! But I would have never read that book on my own because of the cover.
Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee (she also designed my gorgeous header btw)
Her question this week is: What is your favorite brick and mortar bookstore?
I only have a few stores where I live to choose from so I'm going to go with Barnes and Nobel. They just moved to a new plaza and they have a fantastic YA and paranormal Sci-fi section. When I head out of town I go to Borders a lot but that's more for my husband since they have a good horror section for him. We don't have too many independent stores around so I mainly have to stick with the big guys!
I have a couple of contests going on the week:
*Read my review of Warrior by Zoe Archer HERE - at the end is a link to Zoe's guest post and you can enter there to win a signed copy!
*I'm participating in the Wind Warrior by Cynthia Roberts blog tour giveaway HERE. Enter for a chance to win some fantastic prizes!!
Lots of Warrior's on the blog this week!!
Have a look around - leave a link so I can hop back and have a great weekend!!

ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea to use the bunny picture for your hop. Just hopped over from the Book Blogger hop.
ReplyDeleteI made the mistake of reading Fallen for its cover. I won't do that again, lol. How did you like Torment? Also, I keep checking but I might have missed it, have you posted the winners of the Mockingjay giveaway?
ReplyDeleteDanielle - Ughhh Fallen & Torment - http://www.fwiwreviews.net/2010/06/review-torment-by-lauren-kate.html
ReplyDeleteI'm done with that series no matter how pretty she makes the next cover! :-)

Well I do judge. I love a good cover design. Sometimes it makes you miss out. On your recommendation I'm reading "The Ghost and the Goth." I would've rolled my eyes if I saw that in B&N, but I'm pg.100 and really digging it! Also, I ordered "Hunger Games" on my Doubleday book order last night. See how you influence?
ReplyDeleteOh, I forgot the question. When I go to San Francisco (I'm close by) I love two independent stores there. Green Apple Books and City Lights where all the beatniks hung out in the 60's. Both those stores are great and I always find cool stuff.
ReplyDeleteColleen - That makes me so happy about Ghost & the Goth. It's such a cute book! I would have never read it either except for two friends recommending it to me. The bookstores sound awesome! I used to go to some really cool ones when we lived in Seattle years ago - nothing like that around here though :-(
ReplyDeleteHave a great hop! Really enjoying your posts, do visit me at e-Volving Books
