*What is your name/blogger name? Darkeva
*What is the name of your blog? Darkeva's Blog http://thedarkeva.com/
*Do you have an auto-buy author, someone whose writing is so good, you have to read every single thing they write? Richard Kadrey.
*Who is your all-time favorite couple in literature, and why? (Or favorite male/female character)
Buttercup and Westley from The Princess Bride
Karen: Great answer! I love that movie - I probably have most of it memorized as do many others I'm sure.
*Do you have an e-reader? Do you prefer e-books or regular books, or use both?
I do have an e-reader. I read both e-books and physical books, and although I prefer the lightweightness of the e-reader, as well as making it easier to read in public places, I still love printed books and read many more of those than I do e-books.
*What are your Top 5 picks for the best books of 2010? Kill the Dead by Richard Kadrey, The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson, Horns by Joe Hill, The Left Hand of God by Paul Hoffman, and Pray for Dawn by Jocelynn Drake.
Karen: I met and have a few books by Jocelyn Drake but I havent started the series yet. Looks like I might have to start it soon.
*What book or series has been sitting in your TBR the longest? "Vlad: The Last Confession" by C.C. Humphreys. I've been meaning to read it forever, but stuff keeps getting in the way ;-)
Karen: I see City of Ghosts in that pile!! One of my favorite series of 2010. Hope you love it too.
Thank you for stopping by Darkeva - you have added a few new authors to my "must investigate further list"
I keep hearing good things about Brandon Sanderson! And Richard Kadrey's been on my TBR for a long time. I've got to step out and finally try his work. :-)
ReplyDeleteGOod pick with Westley and Buttercup!
Hi Karen,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for posting this! :-)
I'm glad to hear that others share my enthusiasm for The Princess Bride, and definitely check out Joceylynn's books -- they're great :-) I'm very much looking forward to City of Ghosts, and I'm sure I'll enjoy it :-) I'm also glad to hear I have added authors to your "must investigate" pile :-) Mine is ever-expanding ;-)
@Tiger, you should absolutely pick up Brandon Sanderson, and start out with "Elantris." And what more can I say about Richard Kadrey -- he's one of the best writers out there today and his books are such a treat.
Thanks!
Darkeva
A nice interview. I've only read Kadrey's Sandman Slim so far, but I have a feeling I too will be following his work.
ReplyDeletenice one folks, spookily I've just bought Sandman Slim
ReplyDelete@Fox, you should get "Kill the Dead" asap :-) It's even better than Sandman Slim.
ReplyDelete@Jim - how serendipitous :-) I hope you enjoy it :-)
