The Ultimate Reviewer's Challenge is over but the Better Know a Blogger feature was so popular that I still have a few more bloggers to introduce you to. So I will coninue until everyone who wanted to participate is featured! Today we meet Emily!
*What is your name/blogger name? My name is Emily, and that's the name I go by out in the blogging world too. I like to keep things simple :D.
*What is the name of your blog? What Book is That?
*Do you have an auto-buy author, someone whose writing is so good, you have to read every single thing they write? Nalini Singh! Both her Psy-Changeling and Guild Hunter series are auto buys for me. After a little bit of faltering this past year, Jacquelyn Frank is an auto buy author as well. Ilona Andrews made the list too, as I finally got off my duff this past year and read the books by that duo. So many great titles are coming out all the time that it's hard to keep up!
Karen: I just read Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter series and loved it and I too am new to the Ilona Andrews fandom.
*Who is your all-time favorite couple in literature, and why? (Or favorite male/female character) I have the hardest time answering this question- I guess the best I can do is say that the current reigning power couple is definitely Kate and Curran. It certainly took them long enough to get to couplehood but I'm glad they made it.
Karen: FINALLY right?? I love them too!
*Do you have an e-reader? Do you prefer e-books or regular books, or use both? I do have an e-reader- a Kindle, in fact. I'm completely addicted to e-books at this point, and while I do still read and love the print books that I have, I buy pretty much exclusively e-books now. I love being able to access my books anywhere (I have Kindle for Android as well so I can read on my phone) as well as being able to have a huge variety of books with me while I travel. I don't know why I didn't get an e-reader sooner!
Karen: Reading on your phone?? I haven't quite mastered that yet. Too small for me :-))
*What are your Top 5 picks for the best books of 2010? Speaking in terms of books that were released in 2010, I would have to say (in no particular order) Drink of Me by Jacquelyn Frank, Play of Passion by Nalini Singh, The Iron Duke by Meljean Brook, Blood Law by Jeannie Holmes, and White Cat by Holly Black. I was fortunate enough to read a ton of excellent 2010 books, as well as many great earlier releases as well. After all, life is too short to read bad books!
Karen: The Iron Duke has popped several times in this feature. I might have to check it out.
*What book or series has been sitting in your TBR the longest? I'm ashamed to admit that that title probably goes to the Hollows series by Kim Harrison. I know, I know, I'll go back to punching myself now.
Karen: Don't be so hard on yourself - we all have one of those series we just haven't gotten to yet.
*What's the best thing about blogging and reviewing books? By far the best thing about book blogging is meeting people who enjoy the same titles, genres and authors and being able to talk books with them! Book people can talk about books until the oxygen in the atmosphere gives out, and personally I wouldn't have it any other way.
Karen: That is so true Emily! Thankfully we have each other so we can remain in healthy relationships with our "non-reading" friends. Thanks Emily!!
Great interview and emily is wonderful friend.
ReplyDeleteVery nice interview. Love this blog.
ReplyDeleteStupid question, but in what books to Kate and Curran appear? Is it the Psy-Changeling series. I'm punching myself for not having read that series yet. :(
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing Emily. I agree about The Iron Duke being one of the best releases of 2010!
