I'm not one for book trailers but this one fits the book perfectly - take a look....
I read Enclave last year and I still don't really feel like I have the words to describe how I felt reading it. The easy comparison is to The Hunger Games and it is a little similar to that - somewhat. It's also a little bit like Forest of the Hands and Teeth but it is also unique and very much it's own book - not a clone of any other dystopian out there.
I can only compare it to a roller coaster ride. Your not sure what to expect going in but then you're shot into this wild ride with unexpected, sometimes frightening twists and turns. When it's over you're slightly disoriented but exhilarated and you can't wait to do it again.
Today is your lucky day!! Ann Aguirre is giving away 3 signed copies of Enclave - I'm teaming up with Tori - The Book Faery, and Tiger from All Consuming Book's to give away one copy on each of our blogs. Enter on all of our blogs! Contest is open to International entries!! Contest ends Sunday 4/17/11
Thanks Ann!!

ReplyDeleteThanks so much!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful giveaway! I have seen this book everywhere lately and I can't wait to read it.
ReplyDeleteAwesome :D
ReplyDeleteSounds not only like a roller coaster but a bit of a haunted house as well given the sometimes frightening twists and turns.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this giveaway. My question: Since I've been hearing Enclave is just as amazing as Hunger Games, I'm wondering if Ann has read Hunger Games and what she thinks about the quasi-comparison?
ReplyDeleteI haven't read the Hunger Games. The only YA dystopian I've read at this point is THE KNIFE OF NEVER LETTING GO. When I plan to write in a genre, I don't read in it. I want to be sure any similarity comes from the collective zeitgeist, not emulation. Once I've finished the last Razorland book, I intend to do a lot of reading. As for how I feel about the comparison, it's flattering, of course, because those books are tremendously popular.
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway. Fingers crossed!

ReplyDeleteLisa, I would loooove to spend some time with Doctor Who. If I get a choice, I pick Christopher Eccleston as my Who of choice. But I don't think one day would be enough. *g*
