Happy (zombie) Thanksgiving!

Nothing says Thanksgiving more than braaaaains! Right? No? Well……I wanted to show you guys a few cool zombie movie trailers and I’m going to make this zombie/Thanksgiving connection work!

World War Z – I loved the book and here’s the trailer for the movie starring Brad Pitt. The special effects look great but it seems to veering some from the book version. I wish this had been an HBO series instead. The book tackles geopolitics in a very cool way that just can’t be done in a two hour action flick. I'm still looking forward to the movie though.

“Zombie Turkey” – NOT a movie trailer but remember I somehow had to make this into a zombie Thanksgiving theme so this is the video that ties it all together people!

Warm Bodies – I haven’t read the book yet but the movie looks hilarious and has great music!

  1. Have a happy happy turkey day! Just saw World War Z trailer this morning, looks pretty darn cool! Never heard of the second one, and I'm iffy on Warm Bodies, lol. Looks kind of cheesy, but we'll see :)

    1. The book is supposed to be amazing. I didn't realize it was funny though until I saw the trailer.

  2. I didn't know World War Z was a book. From now on, I'll just asume that everything Hollywood is doing these days are books made into movies. *shakes head* At least I hope it's a good movie.

    1. The book was really popular. It came out a few years ago. It was kind of the latest main stream zombie novel & it kicked off the current zombie pop culture craze. It was really good too.

  3. Yeah! Thanksgiving should totally be about brains! I'm iffy on both of them, particularly WWZ as it might just be a bit too focused on guns and choppers for me!

  5. Ya know, Zombie stories are really for the young, because once you get past seventy, and body parts start failing, you realize your "Ride" is breaking down and there's just so many after-market parts you can use for replacements.

And then, if you live long enough, you may end up in a Zombie Hotel we call a "Home" and maybe you remember who you are and maybe you don't. No, you're not dangerous, except maybe to yourself, but you're no longer the human being you once were, or ever will be again. And that IS frightening.

Part of you is dying before you're ready for the rest. And the Younger Ones, they don't want to look at you because deep down, they know that YOU are their future... It's a place and a state of mind where the Sick Ones go to die, where the Old Ones wait for the clock to stop and count every hour as a blessing.

Youth is a luxury that doesn't last nearly long enough. The youth make movies about the living dead, thinking it's a fantasy, or hoping it is. It isn't.

Why do we keep reminding ourselves about the scariest thing in life - the end?

I am not sick. I am not old. But I am older, and I do see the Old Ones. I do not need to see decay on the screen.

That said, "World War Z" looks pretty good. I'll check it out.

  7. Tjhat World War Z trailer looks amazing. I just looked into the book...figuring I'd best read it first but it sounds as if all they have in common is the name. The Book is a post war journal...so I think I'll skip it.

    1. The book is really good! It's post war but not really.....you get to see how the entire world takes on a zombie invasion and how it's all interconnected.

  8. I love how popular zombies have become! I've started reading some Max Brooks and then I got scared so I stopped. >.>

  9. Sooo excited for Warm Bodies. I loved the novel, and from the trailer, it looks exactly like the director too the vision I had right outta my head. Love it. Also, love that pic. And it's so true. My husband went to no less than five stores right before Turkey Day looking for Twinkies...to no avail. :P
