Review: Falling For Her Fiancé by Cindi Madsen
Danielle and Wes have been best friends since college, so when Wes needs a date for his sister’s wedding and Dani needs a partner for her company’s retreat, they devise the perfect plan: a fake engagement to get through both events unscathed. Adrenaline-junkie Wes can prove to both his ex and his family that he’s well and truly moved on, and serious-minded Dani can prove to her boss that she’s worthy of the promotion he seems to only want to give to a family-oriented employee.
But amid the fake swoons, fake kisses, and forced proximity, neither expects the very real feelings that develop. There’s nothing more dangerous than falling for your best friend…but what if the landing is worth the fall? ~ Goodreads
Review:I absolutely adored this book!
I love the whole falling in love with your best friend trope but it has to be pulled off in a certain way or I'm just not buying it, especially when you're adding a fake engagement to the mix. I do not enjoy fake engagements.
Cindi Madsen pulled it off.
Falling For Her Fiancé was romantic and sexy. Often this storyline is pulled off with increasingly wacky plot twists but Danielle and Wes are two fabulous characters that I would love to hang out with and were completely believable. They genuinely cared about each others well being and the future of their friendship when they decided they wanted it to become more. They have a real foundation to build a relationship on and they approached it carefully. I just loved how it was about more than sudden lust.
Danielle and Wes steam up the pages without being overly explicit. When stories fade to black for the sex you're usually left with a chaste kiss, not believing in the sexual chemistry at all. Not so with these two! I felt all swoony and happy with this couple.
Rating: 3.5 out of 4 Falling For Her Fiancé is a tried and true trope formula but Cindi Madsen gets it right with great characters, steamy romance and just enough angst to pull on your heartstrings.

A book I'd pick up if I came across it in the library but probably not one I'd buy. Great review, thanks for sharing your thoughts.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds cute and I love how the chick on the cover totally reminds me of Mindy Kaling.
ReplyDeleteOh yay! I thought Cindi pulled the best friends/fake engagement off very well too.
ReplyDeleteGreat review, Karen!
Yes I have seen the premise around but I like it :)
ReplyDeleteThere's been so many movies with this exact plot. I'm glad the author was able to pull it off in an authentic way.
ReplyDeleteI love these! I'm so glad to see you liked this one, it's been on my list, but so have a lot of other Entangled Bliss books and I hadn't been in a hurry to get it. I'm loving this line of books - I haven't read a bad one yet. GREAT review, I'm off to buy it right now.
ReplyDeletethis looks really cute! glad you liked it!! probably ebook only :( but if it were in pb, I'd try to check it out.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading this one right now! I am always a sucker for the best friends become more story line! It never gets old if done well!
ReplyDeleteFriends to lovers I like.
ReplyDeleteI completely loved this story and the characters! Loved Wes and his carefree, impulsive personality. It's great how Dani complements him in every way. She is the voice of reason yet she lets him push her to try new things and have adventures with him. He's the one that will never let them become boring! So really they just complimented each other. Two halves of a hole!
