Welcome to my Sundays In Bed With... Meme hosted by Midnight Book Girl! The meme that dares to ask, what book has been in your bed this morning? Come share what book you've spent time curled up reading in bed, or which book you wish you had time to read today!
This is my first time participating in this meme. Since I was curled up in bed with this book until 2 am this morning I thought this would be a good time to join in!
After her on-air proposal is turned down by her commitment-phobe boyfriend, Georgia Stone must learn to survive singledom. Unfortunately, thanks to a clause in her contract, she has to do it under the watchful gaze of brooding radio producer Zander Rush. And so begins the Year of Georgia! Lurching from salsa classes to spy school, Georgia discovers a taste for adventure. Her biggest thrill so far? Flirting with danger-aka the enigmatic Zander. But admitting she's ready for more than just a fling...? Definitely Georgia's scariest challenge yet! ~ Goodreads
This was a total, hanging out by the register, impulse purchase. I thought the cover was adorable and it was on sale for $1.94. Why not?
It’s short (219 pages) sweet (fade to black sex) and empowering. Georgia spends the year trying to find out what’s “wrong” with her after a failed on air Valentine’s Day proposal to her boyfriend of one year. Instead she finds out that she’s fine just the way she is, a few new hobbies like belly dancing and world traveling and why she’s worth more than just a fling and refuses to settle for less even if Zander makes a more than tempting offer.
Zander is a good guy with commitment issues of his own but they make a very sweet pair and since the romance develops over the span of a year it doesn’t feel forced even with the short book length.
This is from Harlequin’s new KISS line and the perfect book if you’re trying to pass a few hours or are in the mood for a light read.
Up next for today…
I want to read both of these! I don't read nearly enough sweet romantic books and I can't say no to a book for under two dollars either!
ReplyDeleteEtiquette & Espionage looks so good, and Carriger is an amazing author! Thanks so much for participating!
I started Etiquette & Espionage this morning and it's really good so far.
ReplyDeleteHow To get Over Your Ex is just a quick, light read but sometimes that's just what I need, especially after a few heavy books in a row.
Love this meme! I saw this book at Walmart the other day, and thought it looked sweet. I'm so going to buy it now. Thanks for the rec.
ReplyDeleteThat's where I got it lol
DeleteIt's just a quick, sweet read but I enjoyed it a lot.
aww! this sounds so cute!! $1.94!! I would probably have impulse bought it too!
ReplyDeleteHow to Get Over Your Ex sounds really cute! I love cute books and I love books that are cheap so this one looks like a win-win!
ReplyDeleteI had a hard time getting into Soulless so I put it down to come back to another time so I'm not sure about Etiquette and Espionage, however I absolutely LOVE her covers.
Soulless was just meh for me but this one is pretty good so far. There is a lot more action and I'm liking the characters.
DeleteA nice, sweet romantic book may be just up my alley lately. And the other book looks really interesting, I'm totally adding them both to my TBR!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy reading your books!
