The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
I haven’t been participating in many memes this past year but I always enjoy this one on other people’s blogs because there’s a little variety so I decided to join in this week.
INCOMING!
Books I received for review…
What I’m watching:
S1 of The House of Cards – this series shocks and depresses the heck out of me. I should be able to finish S1 this upcoming week and start S2. I hope there is at least one character that can restore my faith in humanity. It’s not looking good so far.
What’s Your Number (IMBD). I caught this one on TV last week and I loved it. It has awful ratings and reviews. I’m guessing that it’s because Ana Faris’s character is not “likeable” because she’s sexually confidant and aggressive. It’s not a perfect movie by any means but it was a fun rom-com. Chris Evans was adorable.
Pain & Gain (IMBD) I have no idea why I watched this. I knew it wouldn’t be for me. I heard it was ultra violent and raunchy. It is, I guess, (I’ve seen worse) but more than that – it was boring. The Rock was good/funny though.
Love Is All You Need (IMBD) This was on the indie movie channel. It was a very low key, sweet movie with an older couple that falls in love. It stars Peirce Brosnan. “A hairdresser who has lost her hair to cancer finds out her husband is having an affair, travels to Italy for her daughter's wedding and meets a widower who still blames the world for the loss of his wife.” Warning: The ending is a bit open – but sweet.
On the blog this week:
Review: Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge
Tune in Tuesday
review: Best Kind of Broken by Chelsea Fine
Also….I finally started using my Facebook page. I have an aversion to Facebook but I realized if I stay away from personal page (which gives me a moderate case of angina) and stick with my blog fan page I’m ok lol
I post about the books I read (that I probably won’t be reviewing), music, movies and TV so join me over there too if you feel like talking about stuff!
Ohh! Lots of pretties. Jealous of The Kiss of Deception. <3 Dying to read it. Also dying of print edition of Love Letters to the Dead, as I really enjoyed that one. Hope you enjoy everything :D
ReplyDeleteI'm a little wary of that one. Looks like a love triangle lol I didn't request it so we'll see....
DeleteI think I'm going to read Love Letters this week.
Hard to continue with a series of there isn't at least one redeeming character. Enjoy your new reads and have a great week.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great show but with absolutely no one to root for it leaves me so depressed lol
DeleteAnd knowing that it's all probably true is even worse.
those are so many pretties. Yes I have seen you more on facebook lately :)
ReplyDeletehehe - I'm enjoying it.
DeleteJust yesterday I saw Pain & Gain, awful movie! Waste of my time.
ReplyDeleteAnd I watched Love Is All You Need a while ago and really like it. Sweet.
I was prepared to be offended or something but it was too awful for even that lol
Deletei liked what's your number!! I had no idea there were bad reviews for it!! i saw it a million years ago in the theater lol.
ReplyDeleteIt has something like a 20% approval on Rotten Tomatoes. I stumbled upon it on cable last week.
DeleteI do have Facebook, but don't really link it to my blogging, as it's mostly to keep in contact with family around the globe, but I do have quite a few 'likes' on bookish pages so get their update. The Sunday Meme is also one of my favourite, I enjoy looking back at everyone's week. Enjoy your week and Happy Reading. My Sunday post is here
ReplyDeleteI have a personal and blog account but I just started using the blog fan page more. It's kind of fun and spontaneous.
DeleteYay new books ;)
ReplyDeleteI am curious about Love Letters from the Dead. I have a facebook for my blog, and link my posts to it. Occasionally I chat too, I need to be more active on it.
ReplyDeleteMine is for the blog too. I've had it for over a year but never use it. It's kind of fun now that I'm getting the hang of it. I kind of thought of it as a chore - one more place I have to link to lol
DeleteLot's of Love Letters to the Dead this week. Everyone I've visited so far has had a copy, lol. Enjoy all your new books. I have FB but hate it atm. Stupid Zuckerberg.
ReplyDeleteMy Weekly Wrap Up
I've had it for months but I guess I can get to actually reading it now since it's coming out soon. I hope it's good.
DeleteI HATE FB and that's why I never go on. But I decided to give it one more shot or just close it down all together. I have the link on my sidebar but why should people follow if I'm never there? Like Google+ too.
SO gonna look up LIAYN
ReplyDeleteIt was so sweet! So different from all the other movies out there.
DeleteLove Letters to the Dead sounds so good! I can't wait for your review.
ReplyDeleteI need to find your Facebook page! I barely post on mine.
I want to read Love Letters to the Dead. I hope you like it!
ReplyDeleteI really like Ana Faris but I haven't seen that movie. Glad you enjoyed it. :)

My husband and I love House of Cards. It is not happy a show. It gets much darker and depressing in Season 2.
