Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine to spotlight upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
I guess I’m feeling “artsy” this week. Bahahaha ! OK sorry about that – I was lame. Onto my picks for this week.
The Fine Art of Pretending (The Fine Art of Pretending #1) by Rachel Harris
Publisher: Spencer Hill Contemporary
Release date: September 2014
Publisher: Spencer Hill Contemporary
Release date: September 2014
With 57 days until the dance, Aly launches Operation Sex Appeal and sheds her tomboy image. The only thing left is for Justin actually to notice her. Enter best friend Brandon Taylor, the school’s second biggest hottie, and now Aly’s pretend boyfriend. With his help, elevating from “funny friend” to “tempting vixen” is only a matter of time.
But when everything goes according to plan, the inevitable “break up” leaves their friendship in shambles, and Aly and Brandon with feelings they can’t explain. And the fake couple discovers pretending can sometimes cost you the one thing you never expected to want.
~ I have loved everything I’ve read by Harris so far. Both in YA and Adult so I’m sure this will be fantastic as well. And how adorable is that cover??
Soccer star Lainey Mitchell is gearing up to spend an epic summer with her amazing boyfriend, Jason, when he suddenly breaks up with her—no reasons, no warning, and in public no less! Lainey is more than crushed, but with help from her friend Bianca, she resolves to do whatever it takes to get Jason back.
What's a girl to do when what she wants is totally different from what she needs? How do you figure out the person you're meant to be with, if you're still figuring out the person you're meant to be?
~ Another great cover! I’ve read several good reviews for this one already. Super excited about reading this one.
Both sound like fun reads that I need to get myself! Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteNice picks! I like Harris's books, and TAoL looks good too.
ReplyDeleteBoth sounds good and hope you get to read them soon!
ReplyDeleteSo, there are only two kinds of girls? In my day boys used to say this as well only then you were either the kind of girl boys took home to meet their mother or, to be polite, the type they didn't. Ah, how times have changed.
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of something my parent sussed to tell me when I was younger...The more things change the more they stay the same.
DeleteSo I've never read any of Rachel Harris' book but I've been hearing a lot of good things. Any recommendations on which one by her to read first?
ReplyDeleteIf you like YA - her My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century series is adorable.
DeleteHer adult series - I loved the Love & Games Novel #1 - Taste the Heat
You ARE all up in the artsy today, aren't you? :) These both seem cute!
ReplyDeleteNot really my type of books but I do hope you enjoy them!!
ReplyDeleteCute covers :D They sound like interesting books. <3 I hope you will end up loving them both when you get to read them :D Great picks. <3
ReplyDeleteHow cutie are these covers?
ReplyDeleteI hope you get both of these I'd love to know what you think!
ReplyDeleteThey look fun :D
ReplyDeleteBoth of those covers are very cute! I have a hard time reading YA contemporary romance books, and "chicklit" books for some reason, but I hope that when you read them they are as good as you hoped they'd be! :D
ReplyDeleteApril @ My Shelf Confessions
The Art of Pretending has a plot that is not new, yet it still sounds like a book I would want to read.
