{Short & Tweet} Review: Magic Breaks (Kate Daniels # 7) by Ilona Andrews

Unknown

Inspired by Midnight Book Girl, Short & Tweet reviews are my way of taking time off from the daily blogger grind for the hellish month of August while still keeping you posted about what I’m reading.

Magic Breaks by Ilona Andrews

~ Goodreads

Source: Purchased

No matter how much the paranormal politics of Atlanta change, one thing always remains the same: if there’s trouble, Kate Daniels will be in the middle of it…

As the mate of the Beast Lord, Curran, former mercenary Kate Daniels has more responsibilities than it seems possible to juggle. Not only is she still struggling to keep her investigative business afloat, she must now deal with the affairs of the pack, including preparing her people for attack from Roland, a cruel ancient being with god-like powers. Since Kate’s connection to Roland has come out into the open, no one is safe—especially those closest to Kate.

As Roland’s long shadow looms ever nearer, Kate is called to attend the Conclave, a gathering of the leaders from the various supernatural factions in Atlanta. When one of the Masters of the Dead is found murdered there, apparently at the hands of a shapeshifter, Kate is given only twenty-four hours to hunt down the killer. And this time, if she fails, she’ll find herself embroiled in a war which could destroy everything she holds dear.

  2. I have to agree, this is such an important book for this series and it was spectacular! The 6th book was somewhat of a disappointment for me, but this was perfect.

  4. Everything does indeed change in this installment. I loved it, but then again, I've adored pretty much every book in this series, so there was never a doubt in my mind that Magic Breaks would be awesomesauce too. Ilona Andrews is on my auto-buy list, and Kate Daniels is even better in audio!

  9. This is the second to third UF/PNR I've been sold on today! I actually just started MoonBound Clan Vampires by Larissa Ione and it's soooo good!

Anyway, I'm adding this to my list!

  10. Man, I really need to catch up with this series--I still haven't read the last couple! All the reviews have been great, though, I'm glad you are still a fan, too.

  11. I love Kate Daniels and I can't wait to catch up! I'm a book behind but I already have a copy ready and waiting in my TBR! Love the idea of a short & tweet review! Andrea @The Bookish Babe alerted me to your title and I hope you don't mind if I use it as well with a link back to you. Please let me know if you do and I'll call it something else. :)

    1. The more the merrier I always say! There are a few bloggers doing tweet reviews & I got my inspiration from Midnight Book Girl.

I believe she even has a link up for hers but I haven't done it yet.

Enjoy the next KD book - it's an emotional roller coaster!
