I think we’ve all been burned out by social media on occasion. I know I’ve been feeling overwhelmed by both overhype and negativity online lately and just wanted to quit it all.
But what if by quitting you don’t exist anymore? lol

:/ I feel ya
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I would want to quit - just maybe silence people temporarily lol
DeleteOMG that video is hysterical.
ReplyDelete"What's a library, is that like a big Kindle?"
"She's your Wikipedia now."
I hear ya though.
Honestly for me, that's why I custom my feeds. If I don't really like what a person has to say regularly, I mute them.
I need positiveness in my life.
I have a zip feature on my phone app which I've used for ages but now I started zipping #'s too. When something gets trending it drives me nuts to read about anything all day - everyday.
DeleteI've been busy lately and have been totally out of it on the social media. I'm sure I'll miss it soon, but not yet. And yes, mute is the best thing ever!
ReplyDeleteJen @ YA Romantics
I still love my twitter but I need frequent breaks from the internet sometimes. lol
DeleteOMG truth and I laughing with kindle= library :) I adore this show too.
ReplyDeleteI had never seen it before but caught an IFC marathon.
Deletelol I've gotten to the point where I don't even care if I "exist" anymore! I'm exhausted of blogging and social media. Thanks for sharing. That was great!
ReplyDeleteI hear ya! I felt that way a few weeks ago and didn't even really go on Twitter. It's all sensory overload sometimes.
DeleteOMG, yessss! My Facebook wall gets on my ever-loving NERVE. The amount of negative posts is insane!!! And it seems that the people who complain the most are the ones who have the most time to post. Argh. I don't need to see 8 different negative status updates from you in ONE DAY. Go outside, smell the roses, catch a movie, go do something rather than complain on the internet. *rant over* =)
ReplyDeleteHa! I can't even go on FB more than once a week. I don't know what the heck it is over there but they're so dang preachy!
DeleteLOL! "What is a library? Is that a big Kindle?" That was a good ep. :D
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how our brain is wired to think like that now. Kids these days! lol
DeleteThere's SO MUCH negativity out there -- and some people seem to thrive on it, even seeking it out. I'll dip a toe but I really do try to avoid it. Like you, I've been a bit burned out on the whole thing lately but I'm afraid I'll disappear if I disappear...ya know? (not *literally* but it is one of my social outlets!)
ReplyDeleteI like people with strong opinions but at a certain point I'm done. Even if I agree. It's kind of like preaching to the choir.
DeleteI like to chat not get lectured to or feel like I'm constantly being hit with a book pitch.
But yeah - I am afraid of vanishing into the great internet void lol
This is SO awesome!! Love it!
ReplyDeletewait the end is kinda mean!! omg!!
DeleteI'm with you, I don't use mg FB & Twitter except for promotions and the random tweet for this or that. I don't have a personal FB too. If you want to get personal, send me an email or comment on my blog. I'm fortunate that my blog visitors are pleasant but yeah, people have no hate filter anymore on other platforms it's crazy.
ReplyDeleteI get tired of it all too! A few weeks ago I took the FB app off my phone because the constant notifications were driving me nuts. I also made it so I can't see posts from a lot of people (it's kinder than unfriending a ton of people lol). Just that alone knocked out a lot of the negativity. I really don't miss the app at all. If I want to skim FB I go the the website.
ReplyDeleteTwitter still drives me nuts on occasion but for some reason it's easier for me to just not check it for a few days.
