Basically, if I’m reading 100’s of dystopian/YA/Debut Authors etc a year and I join a challenge for those books I then have ZERO desire to read them anymore.
But two things changed my mind about joining the 2016 Blogger Shame Review Challenge, hosted by Herding Cats & Burning Soup and Addicted to Happily Ever After.
1.) I had already had the goal of reading the older, neglected books on my shelf in 2016. But as we established above that’s not enough incentive – in fact joining the challenge to read my old books would make me NOT want to read my old books! Yikes– I’m so complicated! lol
Which leads me to…
2.) The challenge button. This is my incentive. I ADORE this button and I want to use it as many times as possible.

Challenge begins Jan 1, 2016 and ends Dec 31, 2016
All review books that have been on your review list for 6+ months count.
Any book format counts.
Crossovers with other challenges are okay.
You pick the number of books for your individual challenge.
Once a quarter there will be a wrap up post to show off progress!
(sign up post--now through jan or whenever you join)
quarter 1 post--end of March
quarter 2 post--end of June
quarter 3 post--end of September
quarter 4 post--end of Dec wrap up post
And incentives (which I don’t need because I just want the button lol)
There will be four giveaways. One each quarter.
Each review you complete during that quarter and link up will enter you into a gift card giveaway!

ReplyDeleteI'm so weird - pressure, goals, and challenges just don't work for me. It's ok if they're broken up into smaller pieces but to list all of the books at once would panic me. But without the challenge I would read them ALL and then some. lol

DeleteI worked on my Kindle & BEA books this year and didn't allow myself to request more than two at a time on Netgalley so that has stayed under control. But it was at the expense of the books already on my shelf.
I’ve read out of the books you’re going to read: A Court of Thorns and Roses, I’ll Give You the Sun, Joyride, World After, End of Days, The Raven Boys, and The Immortal Rules. I loved them all. I’ll Give You the Sun, World After, End of Days, and The Raven Boys the most. I hope you can get to them!
