I'm going to use my 52 Lists Project prompt again for this Friday 5
LIST YOUR ESSENTIALS
This pretty much sums up my essentials lol
But for a more formal list – here we go!
1.
Iced Coffee
I have to have my iced coffee every single day. Rain. Shine. When it’s cold. When it’s hot.
I mix my own at home using SToK Cold Brew brand – 3/4 black with 1/4 mocha and a touch of cream.
2.
Animals
I absolutely need animals in my life – especially Fonzi & Figgy. They brighten my every day.
3.
Books.
Duh.
4.
Plants
I had a huge butterfly garden in Florida and I knew I loved plants but when I moved to WA with only a small patio – I realized how much I need plants.
I felt totally out of sorts and depressed until I started filling my patio with plants and going to all the spring garden festivals. Plants completely relax me in a way that nothing else does.
5.
Food
Another duh – I need food to survive but I LOVE discovering new restaurants and foods to try. I’m not that into cooking but I’m definitely into eating. lol
Honorable mention – Kevin hahahaha! Poor Kevin.
Take action question: Are your essentials sentimental or practical? Take some time week to reflect on how your essentials make you who you are.
Food is my only practical essential. But not really - because the way I use it in my life is more sentimental.
Not to be all *Marie Kondo bandwagon-ish* by my essentials are things that spark joy. They're in my life because they help ground me, make me happy and get me through the rough times.
What are your essentials?
Cheese. I can't live without cheese. If I end up on a deserted island there better be cheese and chocolate trees...
ReplyDeleteOMG YES!!! I could never be vegan because I love cheese too much.
DeleteIt's official. I'm coming over this weekend and bringing my chocolate chip mocha latte, lots of books. then we can go check out all the new food at restaurants near your house(lol) Happy Friyay! Hugs...RO
ReplyDeleteI am on board with this plan! lol
DeleteKevin lol!
ReplyDeletealso what is that monster desert!?!
Poor Kevin.
DeleteThat's a cupcake from a food truck that we used to go to in FL. She stuffs them with flavored creams and fruit. She makes a DELICIOUS strawberry shortcake one.
Love it. I couldn't live without iced coffee, either. I spend way too much money on it - I buy at least one a day, lately. I need to invest in something to make my own!
ReplyDeleteI used to too - that's why I started making my own. The bottled stuff is pretty good now and I mix in flavors so it's even better. I had to experiment but the SToK brand is my fave.
DeleteWe overlap on so many of these! Me: coffee, books, my husband, my fur babies, food, Honorable mention: wine!
ReplyDeleteI don't drink so that's off my list but we're almost a perfect match! lol
DeleteAnd really my husband is high on the list but I made the mistake of limiting myself to 5 Ha!
Food, animals and tea for me. Of course books.
ReplyDeleteI don't drink a lot of tea. I love it but I'm s lazy lol
DeleteAnimals *definitely*. Books and food too. Good list :)
ReplyDeleteHey, at least you mentioned Kevin, right? I need my one cup of coffee, a hot shower, and to read every day. I am flexible on other things. I would love if I heard from my kid in some capacity on a daily basis (it could be a meme, I don't care!), but she has a life.
ReplyDeleteIf only I made it the Friday 6 he would have been there lol
DeleteI only have the one cup too.
You had me at iced coffee! And books. I think one of mine would be Aquaphor because I cannot function without some at all times- I use the to-go tubes as chapstick! And The 100.
ReplyDeleteI bet aquaphor will be on my list after going through my first real winter in years soon lol
DeleteOooh I have the 52 Lists Project book too {and the Happiness one}. I was thinking of starting it on my birthday in July.
ReplyDeleteAnd I need whatever sweet goodness that is in your food picture! It looks amazing!
I'm not really a journal/list maker kind of gal but I thought they would make good blog prompts and they do!
DeleteIt's interesting that iced coffee is at the top of your list, and Kevin only gets an honorable mention. I mean, he's forever fixing your computer/internet after all 🤣 🤣 🤣.
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm going in the order of things I do during the day lol I don't really see him until after work at the end of the day.
DeleteAnd I figure he's like...even higher than essential! Hahaha
You got away by the skin of your teeth, uh? 😂
DeletePoor Kevin, haha! I love the idea of a butterfly garden but I have a weird fear of butterflies. I don't like flying things that fly erratically!
ReplyDeleteA FEAR OF BUTTERFLIES? I don't know how to process this information lol but ok - I will never make you stroll through my future butterfly garden.
DeleteI agree with all of these, well... except I like my coffee hot. ☕
ReplyDeletePoor Kevin. 😉
I like hot drinks like lattes but not coffee - unless it's very mild. Weird.
DeleteThat's a pretty good list. Iced coffee for me is reserved purely for summer. Nothing than a hot cup of coffee first thing when it's cold out though. Books, food, and animals all rate highly for me as well. My dog and cat really do brighten my day.
ReplyDeleteOf course, I lived in FL so cold is relative. We'll see what I do this winter in WA lol
DeleteI'm a mess without animals. I feel lost with just having 2 right now - I used to have 8.
I love this! I need to start making my own iced coffee. I even have an iced coffee maker I haven't used ye . Book and food are pretty high on my list too!
ReplyDeleteI want to make iced coffee cubes too. Next level iced coffee lol
DeleteI don't have a coffee maker so I just buy mine but it's still easier and cheaper.
I've never really thought about it actually. Besides my husband though because that goes without saying. First would be my darling pupper. Even more so now with his illness, we enjoy everyday together and I can't live without my shadow. The rest of mine besides shelter and food and all the necessities would be things like cheese or fresh sheets, I'm so crap at this. I'm going to think of a good one and come back.
ReplyDeleteHa! Cheese is one of my big food ones. I could not live without cheese.
DeleteAnd I LOVE sheets! I have to restrain myself from buying them. I have no more room to store them. In FL I bought a cabinet for them but couldn't bring it with me to WA and now they're overflowing in a basket.
I've never really thought about the things I NEED but I'd say: Cats, tea, moisturiser (I'm a freaking reptile without it!), music and books.
ReplyDeleteI need all these things or I actually lose my marbles a little bit.
Reading the comments though... I need Cheese. I love cheese. There are so many foods I adore but won't enjoy anywhere near as much without cheese. Cheese has to be on my list but I don't know what I can remove to put it there! *sobs*
