The Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news - a post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is
coming up on your blog in the week ahead.
You can find the info here:

I have not joined in with The Sunday Post in years! I think I’m finally back in enough of a blogging groove to make it worth it again though and I love catching up with my blogger friends or discovering new blogs.

Just a heads up – I usually take the weekend off from the computer so I will return your comments and visit back – but probably not until Monday!

LIFE

I’ve had so much going on with Fonzi – he had another relapse with his recovery from pancreatitis – that I never got to send out these super cute cards to my girlfriends for Valentine’s Day so I’ll share them now. The company is called Laughing Elephant and they sell a wide variety of vintage cards, decals, stickers and more. I found mine at a local store but they also sell online.

I’m actually not a big celebrator of most holidays (other than the BEST holiday – Halloween) but I love sending Valentine’s Day cards to friends for some reason.

We did have some heavy rains in the PNW that led to a lot of mudslides and road closures but we also had a few spectacular days of sun. We live near the Columbia River and went for a walk in the park and saw at least a dozen Bald Eagles and several pods of seals playing and swimming past the excited people along the beach.

My move from FL to the PNW has been rough but it's hard to not appreciate that this is the view from my house these days.

ON THE BLOG

I can't believe I’m posting more than once a week now! I even have a week or two of blog posts drafted! WHO AM I?

  1. Those cards are cute. I love vintage stuff like that. Poor Fonzi. I hope his health stabilizes. You definitely have beautiful views in the PNW. I have only been close to WA state (took a cruise out of Vancouver), but I hope to visit someday.

    1. The whole Fonzi ordeal is frustrating but I hope we have a handle on it.

Was it Vancouver WA? I live about 30 minutes from there. It's beautiful.

  2. Karen! I actually did a little squeee filled happy dance when I saw you post a Sunday post! Silly, maybe, but so true!

I love the view from your house. That's the type of view that will be awesome rain, snow or shine.
I envy the drafted posts! I've run all mine out and are flapping around. My goal was to draft some today but I made a batch of cinnamon rolls instead, just because.

I'm always amazed that that is MY view from MY front door. Like...how did that happen?? lol

Honestly, cinnamon rolls sound way better hehe I'm such a pantser so I rarely blog ahead. I don't even like to but 1 week is a nice cushion.

Do I have to exorcise the alien being who took residence into your body? LOL.
Yay for beating the blogging slump! Now, if only Fonzi would behave (poor thing).

    1. He is KILLING my bank account and making me stressed. I could probably be 10 weeks ahead if he was healthy lol

    1. Two steps forward and two steps back with him but we're, hopefully, getting there.

That view does make me happy - even if it's rainy and dreary out.

  5. Sounds like Fonzi's going through the ringer- poor guy. I hope it's smoother sailing for him the rest of the way.

Beautiful pic by the way. :) Looks awesome there- that view, the mist... and bald eagles as well as seals. Very nice.

Looking forward to your thoughts on Alex and Ada. I'm curious how you liked the ending... I had mixed feelings.

    1. It's always touch and go. I make progress with him then he backslides again.

Do you mean mixed feeling about the entire series ending or just volume #1? I've only read the first so far but the other two are on Hoopla.

    2. Oh I meant the whole series. The end of Vol. 3- it wasn't bad, it just surprised me a little and I had mixed feelings a little bit. Overall though I loved the series!

  6. Poor Fonzi. He's really not having a good time of it :-(

I admit I still find it weird when Valentine's cards are sent other than for romantic love. I didn't realise that was a thing until a few years ago!

    1. Ha! I did for girlfriends a few years ago just because so many of them were still single and I thought it would be nice. It try o make it silly though.

  8. I'm sorry to hear about Fonzi. Sending good energies. Maybe he just needs more time to heal. 🐾✨

I like giving Valentines to friends and family, too! 💝

Have a wonderful new week! 🌞

    1. Yeah - it's been hard to tell what causes his setback. We might have to go in even tinier steps which is hard because he isn't getting much food now but we'll see.

  9. Sorry to hear that Fonzi is poorly and I hope his setback is just a blip. That view is stunning! I hope that also makes you feel happy and joyful sometimes? Thank you for swinging by my blog and I hope you have a great week:)

  10. I hope that Fonzi is doing better, that is so hard! Big hugs to you both. Those cards are SO stinking cute, too. And that picture... So pretty. I wish I lived there tbh. Hope that the week ahead is good, and that Fonzi improves!

  11. I'm going to need you to pass some of the blogging magic to me, since I cannot find the time these days! I thought things would settle down once we unpacked everything, but it's just been one thing after another, and I'm barely keeping my head above water.

I'm sorry Fonzi relapsed. Sending all the love and good vibes! He's too adorkable to feel bad. I know you guys recently took him for a walk... was that before or after the relapse?

Those cards are adorable! I'm bookmarking their website for future use.

    1. Yeah well, you just moved. It's taken me almost a year to get back to normal after my move lol

The walk was before the relapse.

The view there is spectacular ( for those of us not in the US, PNW stands for Pacific North West, right?)

Wishing you a great reading week,

  18. So sorry to hear about Fonzi's relapse. I'm sending out some positive vibes. Where abouts do you live in the PNW? I lived in Seattle for 6 years. I did love it when I was there, but I've been away for 20 years now.
