Question: Where would you like to travel?
Answer: Boring answer but right were I am. We moved to the PNW so we would be able to take long weekends and travel more frequently but, for several reasons, we haven't been able to yet.
We haven't been on a vacation since we lived in FL almost 5 years ago. We used to combine book events like BEA & ALA as vacations and it was great. My MIL stayed at our house to watch the dogs. We don't have anyone like that here so wherever we go has to be dog friendly.
The whole region is filled with outdoor activities that are dog friendly all along the coast and mountains so it's possible but, like I said, there have been things going on that have prohibited us from doing more than the occasional day trip.
So here's hoping that 2024 is the year that we can start taking those trips!
Do you have any dream vacations or one you have scheduled?
I had to look up the title of your post because I figured it was a song, but didn't know which one...the only song I know by The Go-Go's is "Our Lips are Sealed" LOL.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get some vacation time in 2024...Kevin has traveled so often for familial reasons this couple of years, now you deserve to do that for fun!
Ha! Expanding your musical education.
DeleteI think it's been 2 months since he traveled last - and that's been the longest stretch. It's been niiiiice. Once the rainy season ends I look at booking an overnight trip.
But there are scary animals there! Lol, it sounds wonderful
ReplyDeleteFL was kind of scarier lol Bears, plus poisonous things like snake and bugs. We don't have those here. Nothing poisonous here.
DeleteYou'll fall off a trail and die out here though lol They have very narrow trails on the side of mountains.
I think it's lovely that you enjoy exploring where you live. It really is a beautiful part of the country
ReplyDeleteI do! There's always something odd or new going on.
DeleteThe PNW is lovely. But if you could take a dream trip and didn't have to worry about the pups, where would you want to go?
ReplyDeleteHonestly, it would be the same but maybe rich person style lol I LOVE the coast out here and I'd love to stay in a house by the water for a few weeks, then hit the national parks here and CA - like Big Sur. It's not exotic but those are places I've always dreamed of going to when I was in FL .
DeleteI'm not really one for traveling after the horrible Summer vacations we had as kids. lol
ReplyDeleteMy family NEVER traveled. I didn't even realize it until I got older but we never went on a fmaily vacation. The only thing I remember is school trips to places like Boston (we lived in RI) and my mom chaperoned so it felt like a vacation to kid me lol
DeleteOur travel came to a screeching halt throughout the pandemic. And even since things have improved somewhat I am still cautious (won't fly unless absolutely necessary, won't do a cruise). But we do have a R&R getaway planned in late April/early May in conjunction with our anniversary so I'm looking forward to that.
ReplyDeleteOurs came to a halt when we moved out here. Money was tight, Kevin had a new job then a year later COVID hit so ... This past year Kevin has been flying back for fmaily issues and that's been time consuming and costly - so no trips again. I'm really hoping we can get time away soon.
