Three Things: November 2019

Lazy blogger is lazy – I haven’t been reading or blogging and I’m barely keeping up with comments. I want to post but my brain is drawing a blank so I was super excited to see this  Three Things: November prompt over at My Pixie Blog. Easy and fun!!

Three things: November 2019

Things I’m looking forward to before the end of the month:

~ Decorating my tree (this is the first time we’ve had a Christmas tree in close to 30 years!)
~ Checking out the small town Christmas decorations in our area
~ Wearing sweaters, mittens, gloves, boots

Things I’m happy with:

~ My new house
~ That the rainy season is late this year so I’m taking in the sunny skies as long as I can!
~ The views from my new house. The Columbia River is below us and I can see the river and the mountains out in the distance. The fog hangs in the sky right in front of my house in the morning. It’s kind of creepy but cool.

Things I don’t understand:

~ The world right now
~ Most people lol
~ The roads here. Seriously over complicated and twisty. Even using GPS I get lost! Ha!

Things I love to eat at Thanksgiving:

~ Everything
~ Everything
~ Everything

Things I need from the store:

Nothing!!

Things I don’t like to do:

~ Drive
~Vacuum
~Talk to people/adulting

Things I’ve said to strangers this week:

~ “I bought the pin the nose on the reindeer game that would have the most potential to be inappropriate.”

(I had to pick this up for Kevin’s work Christmas party and as you can see – the potential for a misplaced nose to an inappropriate spot is high)

~ “Just stuff it all in there – it’s just bags in the bag”

(I brought my reusable bag food shopping and had all my mesh produce bags in the bottom so the bagger didn’t want to put my food on them.)

~ “Yes, Fonzi is very fluffy and likes Subaru’s” to a little girl we met at the park.

Things that smell good good this season:

~ Apples/spices
~ Crunchy leaves
~ The crisp air

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving (if you celebrate) and feel free to share your three things in the comments.

It sounds like the new house is making you happy in more than a way! Now we want pics of your new and improved (?) Christmas tree LOL.

In typical "Roberta vs. Karen" fashion, I do have post ideas (discussion post ones!!!) - what I don't have right now is time, but January is just around the corner...

    1. I have ideas - just ZERO motivation lol

Te cold just completely paralyzes me, it seems. Hopefully I'll get used to it - otherwise you might not see me until next May or June hahaha

  2. Mmm apple and spices, I love that smell.

But sigh, I hate November. It is so dark

    1. It gets dark early here and I HATE it. I'm just thankful the rainy, cloudy days haven't fully kicked in yet.

  3. 30 years! Wow- have fun w/ the tree! And I love going around and looking at decorations. :) I bet you'll have fun seeing what your new town has to show off!

I LOVE the smell of leaves. When I was a kid we used to burn them after raking, and as weird as it sounds, the smell of burning leaves is the BEST.

    1. It's up and pre-lit but we still need ornaments and all that.

I remember burning leaves too! The smell is fantastic.

    1. They're playing that one last after everyone has a had a few drinks. They had a regular standing on all four legs deer but I thought this one would be more fun when you get it wrong.

  6. I'm glad to hear that you are happy with the house! Things I don't like to do...1) go to supermarkets and shops during the December chaos 2) Talk to people 3) housework. Just leave me indoors on my own to read and be anti social and give me a House Elf!

  8. I love spiced apple smells... And I am horrified by the idea of not having a Christmas tree for 30 years!! What was that all about?!

I sympathise with getting lost even with GPS. That is me, lol.

  11. It's that time of year isn't it, I often sit at my keyboard going derr derr and can't even type out a review. We haven't bothered with a tree for the last few years, it's so much bother and I honestly can't be assed. Are you going plastic or real? We have a faux tree that's some sort of Canadian pine and it looks completely real. Even to touch. I'll just add a wreath to the front door and fairy lights in the trees that line our driveway and be done with it I think.

I love all Thanksgiving foods, too, as opposed to my son who has what I call the white plate special: turkey, mashed potatoes, and biscuits. πŸ˜„

    Thanks for sharing. πŸ‘✨
